Ring of Fire!

Medan, Sumatra - April 13, 2005 (4:41pm) - Report Submitted by Joe Hurston

We just returned to Medan to the news about the Volcano erupting at Mount Talang near Padang, Sumatra. That's pretty close to Nias Island. The area is called the "Ring of Fire" and with good reason. This activity is unprecedented. Things are definitely heating up and shaking!

Upon arrival at the Medan airport, I sent the team back to the Novotel Hotel and Ben (my son) and I went to the military side of the airfield. We're cleared! The Air Mobile Team will be boarding a U.N. Helicopter for Nias at 7:00am tomorrow morning. The Lord is truly opening the way for us to get to ground zero of this latest disaster. We have been longing to get onto Nias, but have at the same time been following the steps laid out before us. We have been praying for strategic deployment. Yesterday as we pumped clean water in that refugee area where over 50,000 people died, we knew that we were right on schedule, in the right place at the right time. We sense the same thing about the course that we are on.

We're packing full camping supplies and will likely be in tents on Nias. We don't know where we will stay or how we will get around, but we have been assured that if we show up with the Vortex Voyagers TM there will be plenty of work for us to do. So "onward we march"!

As we look at these eruptions, we just might take a trip down that way, but again, the Lord will have to open the doors. With all the disaster going on it's not like just jumping a flight, or getting in your car and driving there. Each step really takes the Lord to open the doors. Well, I'd better not get too far ahead of schedule. We have Nias next. It's unlikely that we'll be able to communicate from there, but you never know. We've seen "connections" in some very strange places. If you don't hear from us for a couple of days, it's because we're just out of the communication line. The Air Mobile Team is healthy and we're getting along quite well. The Lord is good!!

It's that time to close this out. THANK YOU for your love and prayer!!

Joe and the Air Mobile Team!

PS - I may get one more off before we turn in tonight. Love you all!!

Joe
